Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 annual base

WSE also holds partnerships with 100+ rights holders and sports properties, providing always-on programming to followers of the internet's largest and most engaged social communities. 

We are looking for a People Operations Generalist to join WSE to join the People team to work with the People Operations Manager to maintain and grow our People Ops processes. This person will be given a high degree of autonomy with the ability to contribute to  shaping the People Operations function. We want someone who will take an entrepreneurial mindset by coming up with innovative, efficient solutions to the common People Operations challenges faced by a fast-growing start-up. This is a high-impact role where the ideal candidate will come in and partner quickly with People Operations Manager,  with the opportunity for growth in the role and company. The position requires 2+ days per week in the office in Santa Monica, CA, and is not eligible for full-time remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an efficient, engaging onboarding process that sets new hires up for success, including orientation programs and cultural integration initiatives
  • Work closely with hiring managers to ensure Recruiting and offer processes are efficient and operationally sound
  • Work efficiently within our People tools and streamline processes within them
  • Operationalize HRIS system data accuracy; consistently update and maintain employee records, company org charts, and personnel file
  • Assist with the overall development and execution of our performance management system and processes
  • Coordinate training, learning, and development programs tailored for our teams
  • Assist with maintaining compliance and audit completion with federal, state and local employment and benefit laws/regulations
  • Be the initial  point of contact for employee questions and matters related to benefits, leaves of absence, and timeoff; including employee relations intake
  • Co-manage Wave culture initiatives - communicating plans, opportunities, and ensuring follow through
  • Day to day maintenance of established people operations processes and procedures. 
  • Execute on other People, IT, or general operations responsibilities as required by the People team on an ad-hoc basis
  • Serve as office coordinator, maintaining office supplies, kitchen stock, and vendor/contractor communications

Qualifications

  • 3+ years People Operations experience, minimum 1+ years in a Generalist role, or related
  • Experience in a similar role in fast-paced, start-up, or digital media industry
  • Familiarity with hybrid and virtual work environments
  • Proven ability to establish trust and build relationships with all levels and functions of an organization
  • Moderate level of Excel skills
  • The ability to operate independently and efficiently
  • You have a gritty & entrepreneurial attitude, and don't shy away from things you don't know
  • Willing to think against the grain and find innovative solutions for a fast growing company
  • Strong communication, organization, and consensus building skills
  • Passion for sports and digital media

This role is a full-time position with a base salary range of $70,000 - $90,000/year, and may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Actual salary at the time of offer may vary based on multiple factors, including an individual's level of experience and qualifications. Physical Requirements + Work Environment

  • Capacity to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery and hardware.
  • The ability to communicate and exchange information clearly and accurately. 
  • Work is sedentary and involves sitting for the majority of work hours.
  • Able to work full-time M-F and nights and weekends as needed.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and work is performed in a business office environment.
  • The worker may be exposed to variable lighting conditions (brightness or darkness) and noise during production when in the office.
