Compensation: $200,000 - 250,000 base salary + Commission/Bonus

We are seeking a Vice President of Sales who has a demonstrated track record of selling to the largest advertisers looking to reach sports fans. This VP will be a player-coach for our team, both bringing the largest blue-chip clients, as well as providing mentorship and leadership to a growing sales team. Additionally, this role will provide their market insights to the Head of Sales & Head of Strategy to help develop long-term sales & company strategy.

Key Responsibilities: 

Sales Leadership & Strategy: 

  • Lead and develop the sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and drive growth across Wave Sports' ecosystem with an emphasis on YouTube, Social and Audio distribution. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align sales strategies with the company's overall business objectives and vision. 
  • Leverage high profile industry relationships to design upfront partnerships across the Wave Sports slate 

Team Development & Management: 

  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing sales team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture. 
  • Provide coaching and guidance to sales representatives, helping them achieve both individual and team sales goals. 

Client & Partner Relationships: 

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential corporate clients, brand partners, and sponsors. 
  • Identify new revenue opportunities through strategic partnerships and cross-platform sales efforts. 

Revenue & Forecasting: 

  • Drive new sales opportunities while managing and growing existing client accounts. 
  • Manage sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports 

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: 

  • Partner with the content, production, marketing, and legal teams to ensure seamless execution of sales campaigns and client deliverables. 
  • Work closely with the marketing and creative teams to develop customized pitches, proposals, and promotional assets that resonate with potential clients. 
 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in ad sales. Must have experience selling sports content and be comfortable regularly designing 7- to 8- figure deals.  
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a sales team while driving results in a fast-paced environment. You do not need to have previous formal management experience, but tangible examples of your leadership skills are necessary.  
  • Strategic Thinker: Strong track record of developing and executing novel sales strategies that deliver significant revenue growth. This role is for someone who can create new solutions to the challenges we face. 
  • Relationship Builder: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a talent for cultivating strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams. 
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a demonstrated ability to secure long-term partnerships and agreements.

  • This role is a full-time position with a base salary range of $200,000-250,000/year, with an aggressive commission plan. Actual salary at the time of offer may vary based on multiple factors, including an individual's experience level and qualifications. Physical Requirements + Work Environment 

  • Capacity to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery and hardware 
  • The ability to communicate and exchange information clearly and accurately 
  • Work is sedentary and involves sitting for the majority of work hours 
  • Able to work full-time M-F and nights and weekends as needed 
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and work is performed in a business office environment 
  • The worker may be exposed to variable lighting conditions (brightness or darkness) and noise during production when in the office
